April 24, 2012

After a great deal of thought about the music business and my future place in it, I have decided to essentially retire from public performance in October of this year.

This does NOT mean I'm going to walk away from the drum kit! In fact, with the studio now in the next room, I actually plan on playing more than I have in the past decade or so. It's just that I'll be doing it on recordings, on video, and for my own amusement. I will also continue to produce, play on, and mix projects via the Internet, teach, and venture out for the occasional clinic appearance. And I must say that should brother Nils decide to fire up the band again and want me to be a part of it, or if brother Frank would like to see my smiling face behind the kit at some point in the future, I'll be more than happy to consider being a part of those adventures. I've learned over the years that one can really never say never, hence my use of the word "essentially" at the beginning of this paragraph.

I've had the most amazing performing career and I want to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years. I hope that you will continue to support my work as I travel down this new and different path, and that you will continue to keep in touch through e-mail and various social media.

Cheers!
